Genre: Horror
Cast: Vignesh, Lakshana, MS Baskar
Plot: Revenge
Positives: Vignesh, Lakshana
Negatives: Violent, Same old story!! Nothing New!!
Review:
Vignesh (a.k.a) sudalesan is an orphan works in a salt production plant owned by some big landlords, called "Annachi". All these Annaachi(s) do all day is booze, have fun with village girls and beat the heck out of the people in village. They also in between lease land to folks like vignesh to make salt. During the day time our Annaachi(s) [There are 3 annachi's in this movie, unfortunately neither of them have a name :)] roam in the village markets dance, sell salt, fish and pearl.
Vignesh works in the salt production unit in the day and in the night happily boozes and eats food in the Graveyard (wonder what the director is trying to convey here, by making the hero have food in the graveyard on top of dead bodies..). One such day, our hero's friend says he is bored of eating parota/salna (South Indian Curry) and asks the hero to get married to lakshana.
Lakshana is the step daughter of some old lady in the village, who grows her just to make money out of her. The old lady even tries to sell her daughter for money and is against her marriage. Vignesh falls in love with lakshana and one fine day they get married.
Meanwhile, one of the annachi (the big annachi) gets into fight with a government official and kills him in the village forest near the salt unit. Lakshna who happens to be the witness of this murder gets killed by all 3 Annachi(s).
As usual, the hero finds out who killed his dear wife and goes and kills one annachi after the other and kills all the 3 annachi(s). He also in the process kills all annachi's sidekicks and good number of police men. The climax of the movie is the killing of the final annachi and the hero getting shot by the cop.
Vignesh has put in some splendid performance as eesa in this movie. He has strained himself to act in all types of nonsense scenes, the director has asked him to act (If vignesh has thought, he is going to get fame like vikram in pithamagan, unfortunately he must be stupid to think so). There is nothing new about the story and the screen play drags. The director seems to have lost the plot weather to show more violence or love and eventually chooses the brutal route. I guess he wanted to have a blend of a movie like Pithamagan and Naan Kadavul together (inspired by Bala). But, the story is wafer thin and no message to convey.
Coming to the comedy track, it so pathetic. MS Basker & Co have put in a useless comedy track which makes the movie even more boring.
Overall, the movie is a watch, only for Vignesh and some casual acting by lakshana. Not worth to watch in theaters, unless you are totally bored of life :)
